Royal Mail Cats 1995

A signed, original mixed media painting incorporating postage stamp of two cats, Siamese and Tabby. (Can you spot the mouse?)

I created this artwork incorporating a used GB Royal Mail thematic stamp of two cats. Using oil paint for texture and watercolour to extend the details in the scene around them. In this painting the two cats sit like they are best friends, playing a game of cat and mouse, one cat sitting patiently waiting for the mouse to come within reach from the pot plant! This would make a thoughtful gift for any cat lover, stamp collector or lover of original art.

This beautiful old stamp is from a series of GB picture postage stamps released by the Post Office in 1995, these stamp designs were taken from paintings originally created by Elizabeth Blackadder and would make a lovely gift for someone with an interest in collectible Great British Topical Postage Stamps or someone with a love of cats. this stamp is one from this set, please contact me for details of the others as they look great hanging together!

Created using a real postage stamp at the center and by applying a hand painted background using watercolour and oil paint, this original painting is now ready to send.
